At Rebel Kitchen, we are about a different health message — bold taste, big ethics, no preaching.
Rebel Kitchen was born out of the need to show that health is more than just what we eat. My husband [co-founder Ben Arbib] and I have an innate belief that in order to redefine health and change the food system, we need to start by challenging the way food is made and how businesses within the food space are operated. First and foremost, food needs to be food — grown in and coming from nature, without additives, preservatives or refined sugar. Second, it is about healthy business practices within the food space, from our team down to the entire supply chain.
It all starts with our coconuts. Our coconut "mylks," yogurts and water are 100 percent organic and contain no refined sugar, additives or preservatives. We utilize non-GMO ingredients and are gluten and dairy-free, so everyone from vegans to paleo-followers can enjoy our products. In 2014, we launched three children-focused coconut mylk flavors in the UK. We quickly added adult flavors, and Rebel Kitchen is now available across Europe, the United States and Australia.
The fast-moving consumer goods space is crowded. As a startup, it is difficult to cut through the noise when you are competing alongside global brands with significant budgets. That is why we work hard to make the best products that really stand out from the rest: From taste to packaging design, we will never compromise on quality. Once people try our drinks, they really do convert!
The above photo was taken by one of the many Rebel Kitchen fans out there. It is a great example of how people connect with what it is we are trying to do — redefine health. Our balanced and holistic approach to health resonates. There is so much confusion about what is or is not healthy, and preaching on how you should or should not be living your life. We are here to break the rules and empower people.
You do not need to be a health-nut to love our products, or you can be – either works! What is important is that we have a brand that speaks to people, regardless of where they are on their health journey. Everything we do comes from positivity and love, but in a way that is both connectable and relatable. This photo is a representation of all that.
