How to Attract Your Ideal Clients

Stacia Pierce, CEO of Ultimate Lifestyle Enterprises, contributed this article to BusinessNewsDaily's Expert Voices: Op-Ed & Insights.

Whether you are running your business online or it's brick and mortar, if you want to grow your business, you need customers. The best way to grow a thriving business is to focus your marketing to attract your ideal client. Your ideal clients are the people who see the value in your efforts, seek out your services and are willing to invest in your services and pay you what you are worth.

When you fill your books or your store is buzzing your ideal clients, you began to see the rewards of your labor and find fulfillment for helping so many people. The key is to know you who you are looking for. Having clarity about the kind of customers you want, how you want them to respond and interact with you is very important to attracting your ideal clients into your business. Narrow down whom you want to work with.

Create a list of how you want your ideal clients to feel once they encounter you or start working with you. Also list what you want your ideal clients to do for you. Do you want them to pay on time, pay your asking price, take fast action on assignments and provide feedback, tell others about your products and services, attend all your events, etc. Consider everything that is important to you and put it on your list.

Next, create a client avatar. This is a simple yet detailed profile of your ideal client. Build a complete profile including but not limited to:

  • Sex
  • Age
  • Appearance
  • Type of Car they drive
  • Type of clothes they wear
  • How many kids they have
  • Where they like to shop
  • What kind of books they read
  • Where they live
  • Where they like to hang out
  • Favorite social media site

When you zero in on the exact person you're trying to reach, you're likely to build a better business faster. When you target everyone vague and broad … you'll end up broke. It's impossible to market to everyone at the same time. So, get clear on whom you see yourself helping, get a good picture of who that person is and create product and services to solve their problems. Soon they'll start coming to you easily and effortlessly because you are clear on how to market and attract them.

The fastest and most effective way to build your list with your ideal clients are as follows:

Live events

Build your lists from live events … from your own event or when you are a guest speaker at other conferences or events. Live events allow people a chance to get to know you better and learn from you up close. This helps to build the relationship and they are more likely to bring others who think like them to your events as well. You can build your list at your own events with new registrations and from others by making an irresistible offer that will entice them to sign up with you on the spot as well.

Super enticing offer on your website

Everyone has a free offer, you have to make yours super enticing so you can stand out. Give high value information that makes people feel connected and obligated to get more information from you. These types of gifts will draw your ideal clients to you because they'll come seeking more info from you. A great way to create this irresistable offer — think of five things that you would want someone to give you free, then take one and turn it into an irresistible marketing offer.

Social media conversation

Convert your social media friends and fans into your mailing list as well. You can do this with great posts and tweets and special offers that lead back to your site and encourage them to sign up for your free offer.

Overall, the best people on my list came from meetings in person. Get out and network and connect with others in person and share with them what you do and always tell them something that will lead them back to your site. Use your business card as a marketing tool by adding a free offer to entice prospects to visit your site. Now is a great time for networking because of the frequent special occasions (weddings, graduations, showers, etc.) some of my best clients have come from these type of gatherings.

The Women's Success Conference is an excellent place to network. Join us July 25-27th for 3 days of inspiration and information that will take your business and life to another level. For more information go here: www.WomensSuccessConference.com

Talk to at least 5 people daily about your business and services. Get out and talk to people everywhere, at the coffee shop, grocery store, airport, restaurant, etc. You'll be amazed at how easy some of your casual interactions can easily be converted into clients.
