Microsoft has released SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 2 (SP2). The Service Pack and Feature Pack are now available as a free download from the company's Download Center:
The SP2 includes numerous fixes to issues that were reported to Microsoft via its Feedback program as well as all fixes that were previously included in SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Cumulative Update 1 thru to Cumulative Update 5. Additionally, Microsoft said that it has added "supportability enhancements" as well as fixes for problems that have been reported via the Windows Error Reporting system.
There are three new changes:
- Reporting services charts can now be zoomed and cropped
- Batch files that contain the alter table command are not cached
- Rendering issue with collapsed cells or rows has been resolved
Microsoft recommends SQL Server 2008 R2 users to update to the latest service pack.
