Small Business Snapshot: bb7

Small Business Snapshot: bb7 Credit: bb7

Our Small Business Snapshot series features photos that represent, in just one image, what the small businesses we feature are all about. Maggie Graham, marketing manager of product development firm bb7, explains how this image represents the business.

bb7 is a product development firm that transforms problems into profitable products. Our team of developers — from artists to rocket scientists — loves to tackle problems and launch products. Our teams have worked on subatomic particle research equipment in Antarctica, integrated Nobel Prize-winning technology into a medical device, resurrected an iconic machine that hadn't been re-designed since the 1960s, and so much more.

The B's in bb7 come from Bjorksten Labs (founded in 1944) and BIT 7 (founded in 1992), which merged in 2000 to form bb7. Since then we have united pioneering research with excellence in engineering and design, offering clients the complete product development package.

In the photo, you can see an electrical engineer desolder a component of a circuit board to be used in a confidential consumer electronic product. This image demonstrates the high-level skills required to precisely rework complex circuit board components. Electrical engineering is one of bb7’s differentiators, and our team performs advanced work in wireless communications systems, alternative energy strategy and algorithm development.

Our process is rooted in aerospace principles and we are the first to apply these to the commercial sector, meaning, we take a systems approach. Project management is on the forefront of every project and we pursue technical and creative excellence.
