Goff explains the experiences that helped form her personal leadership philosophy:
"I have spent over 25 years in the training and hospitality industry. My career started in operations as an hourly drive-thru employee, while I was also obtaining my bachelor's degree in hotel/restaurant management. I fulfilled every role —from entry-level employee, operations manager, corporate training and development director to strategic human resource leader —throughout my career.
Each one of the positions I have held in the hospitality industry has awarded me the opportunity to learn and develop my leadership philosophy, which is mainly focused on helping my team set and reach their goals. While working in each role, I focused my efforts on strengthening and supporting my team. Given that I balanced schoolwork, raising a family and continually achieving my own personal and professional goals, I understand how to be flexible with my employees and offer support and advice whenever they are faced with opportunities or adversities. This, in turn, allows me to get the best out of my employees, because I am helping them avoid burnout while also supporting their development. In addition, when I am training a new team member, I always help them strategize short- and long-term goals and ambitions. This is something my best managers did that benefitted my professional growth.
Currently, I am applying my leadership philosophy to my Patrice and Associates franchise, a staffing office that specializes in recruiting for the hospitality industry. My experience has enabled me to have a deep understanding of people, which I am using to guide job candidates in their search for rewarding career opportunities in the hospitality industry."
