The weekend after Thanksgiving is one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year, starting with Black Friday and lasting through Cyber Monday. Sandwiched in between those major shopping days is Small Business Saturday, a shopping event started in 2010 to encourage people to patronize small businesses and local retailers during the holiday season.
Small Business Saturday, which falls on Nov. 29 this year, was the topic of the latest #BNDchat. This month's chat featured Nicole Leinbach-Reyhle, a spokeswoman for Small Business Saturday and founder of Retail Minded Magazine. Experts from the Business News Daily team also participated in the chat.
Here’s a quick recap for those who missed it.
Q1) How can small businesses take advantage of Small Business Saturday?
Q2) Will there be anything new happening this Small Business Saturday?
Q3) What can businesses do to keep the Small Business Saturday momentum going through the holiday shopping season?
Q4) What's the best way to compete against big retailers?
