Dell's business line of products has something new to offer small businesses: the Dell Latitude 7000 2-in-1, the company's first hybrid detachable.

The Dell Latitude 7000 2-in-1 is a thin, lightweight Ultrabook that lets you choose how you want to work. It comes with a detachable tablet, delivering portability, flexibility and uncompromised productivity. As a notebook, this hybrid comes with a hinged keyboard dock; in tablet form, it functions as a touch screen that keeps you productive by delivering all the power of a laptop.

It's also fully loaded with security features not available in other hybrids, which Dell boasts makes the Latitude 7000 the world's most secure 2-in-1. Running on Windows 8.1 and 8.1 Pro, the Dell Latitude 7000 2-in-1 may be the hybrid Ultrabook you're looking for. [Best Tablets for Business 2014 (and Why We Love Them)]

The Dell Latitude 7000 comes with a bright, 13.3-inch touch screen and uses an Intel HD Graphics 5300 GPU to deliver a 1920 x 1080-resolution display. Thanks to its Core M processor — which fits in a slimmer chassis without sacrificing power — this 2-in-1 is smaller and lighter than other hybrids in its class. It measures 12.6 x 9 x 0.78 inches and weighs 3.76 lbs., making it one of the most portable hybrids and Ultrabooks for business users.

The Latitude 7000 also gives you up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage on a solid-state drive (SSD). It comes with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and you also have the option of adding on an 8-megapixel rear camera.

For business users, one of the Latitude 7000's biggest draws is that it's fully loaded with several security features to keep your device — and business — safe at all endpoints. It ships with the fully comprehensive Dell Data Protection, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2 encryption, malware protection, and backup and recovery systems.

You also have the option of adding on advanced authentication systems, such as fingerprint readers and near-field communication (NFC), as well as a secure vPro processor and a Noble computer lock slot.

All-day battery life

If you need your hybrid to last you all day, the Latitude 7000 has your back. The tablet itself comes with a 30-Whr battery, and the keyboard dock delivers an additional 20-Whr battery. Combined, you'll get about 11 hours of battery life in notebook form.

For even more juice, the Latitude 7000 is fully compatible with the Dell Portable Power Companion, a portable charger to fill up your hybrid battery on the go.

The Dell Latitude 7000 2-in-1 is available this month starting at $1,199.
