Toshiba's versatile laptop/tablet hybrid now comes in a powered-up Pro version. Compared to the original Satellite Click 2, the Satellite Click 2 Pro comes with a more powerful processor, a sharper display and a more premium design. And the Pro's hybrid design is just as flexible as the original; you can detach the display from the keyboard dock at any time and use it like a tablet. Check out a full review of the Toshiba Satellite Click 2 Pro on our sister site Laptop Mag, or read on for three features that make this hybrid good for business.
The Pro version of Toshiba's Satellite Click 2 offers better hardware all around. It includes either an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 chip, which are both improvements on the pokey Intel Pentium processor that comes in the standard Click 2. Also included is a sharper display, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, compared to the 1366 x 768-pixel screen in the standard version. Finally, the Click 2 Pro packs in hardware perks that the standard version lacks, such as backlit keys on the keyboard.
Like the standard Satellite Click 2, the Click 2 Pro features a versatile hybrid design so you can use it as a laptop or a tablet. Snap on the keyboard for extended typing sessions and other productivity tasks, and snap it off to use the display as a portable tablet. The keyboard features a laptop-style hinge, unlike other hybrid devices such as Microsoft's Surface Pro 3, which requires a kickstand to prop the display up. That makes it easier to balance the Click 2 Pro for typing on an uneven surface such as your lap.
Full Windows 8.1
The Click 2 Pro runs the full version of Windows 8.1, as does the standard version, so any programs you use on your home or office PC will work on the device, including desktop apps such as Microsoft Office. That makes this hybrid more adaptable than other tablet devices running Android or iOS, which have big app libraries but don't support desktop PC software.
