Need more foot traffic at your business? A new social media analytics app is here to the rescue.
In a joint partnership with location-based social network Foursquare, social media management dashboard HootSuite released Foursquare for Business, a new app that integrates Foursquare insights with HootSuite's social engagement capabilities. Foursquare for Business uses the HootSuite system to help businesses attract more customers and better manage their FourSquare venue listings.
With the Foursquare for Business app, users can monitor check-in traffic and customer conversations, as well as view the establishment's "mayor" — the customer with the most check-ins over the last 60 days. Businesses can do this in the same convenient place where many manage their Twitter, Facebook and other social media campaigns — the HootSuite dashboard.
Because this app gathers all customer-generated information, the insights are invaluable to businesses that want to better understand their customers and how to engage with them. Using this data, businesses can attract more customers by catering Foursquare campaigns to past trends and real-time events, then concurrently running the campaigns to a wider network via other social media accounts also being managed on the HootSuite dashboard.
"Think of a business owner that notices a sudden increase in the number of redemptions for a particular Foursquare Special, or a large number of Tips left by customers who are promoting a particular product or service," wrote Matt Wong, senior product marketing manager at HootSuite, in the announcement. "That owner could take this information and further promote that special, product or service with Foursquare Local Updates, or cross-publish to other social networks like Facebook and Twitter for further amplification."
The Foursquare for Business app also enables multiple streams — HootSuite's side-by-side newsfeeds — to monitor what customers are saying and how they are interacting.
"Foursquare for Business helps provide small business organizations with key insights for their venue management. Social media is an essential part of engaging in conversations regarding your business," said Dev Anand, Platform Business Development at Foursquare, in a statement. "Our partnership with HootSuite ensures that social media is an integral part of driving these vital business insights to make them actionable."
To start using the Foursquare for Business app, businesses will need a HootSuite account. They will also need to claim their venue listing on Foursquare, which is currently free for HootSuite users.
