Hiring? Show Off Your Company’s Culture with The Muse

Looking for a more personal way to hire?

The Muse is a new job search site that offers to showcase your company’s culture to help you find the right employee.

In a crowded field of online job boards, The Muse stood out enough to become one of five remaining contenders for the Wall Street Journal’s “Startup of the Year” award this month.

The company promises to show off the “heart and soul” of your company by helping you create a fully branded, attention-grabbing profile. Each profile features video footage shot and edited by Muse professionals to show what makes your company tick.

“You're made up of fabulous people with cool backgrounds, a unique office space, and a culture that drives your company to be successful and different,” according to TheMuse.com. “So why not use all of that to attract the best talent to you?”

The Muse also touts its “direct apply” system that sends applicants’ resumes straight to the hiring manager instead of into a virtual slush pile, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The company faces stiff competition from the likes of job search giants, including LinkedIn and Monster — but it has garnered attention by offering tools to help uncertain applicants who aren’t sure exactly what they’re looking for.

For now, the 14-employee startup lists open jobs in more than 30 U.S. cities, but it has ambitions to expand its scope to Canada, England and Australia.
