‘Social Media Boot Camp’ Designed for Small Businesses

If you want to boost your business’s online presence, sign up for boot camp.

Social Media Boot Camp to be exact. Tailored for small businesses, the free 10-week online program kicks off Monday courtesy of Postling , a website that allows time-strapped entrepreneurs to manage their social-media accounts all in one place.

“Being online isn’t really a choice anymore. Customers are looking for your business there,” Postling’s vice president of customers, Alexis Lamster, told BusinessNewsDaily.

“Why not make sure that when they search for you, they find correct and detailed information and a sense of your brand and personality at the same time?”

Every Monday for 10 weeks, Postling will reveal an assignment and publish a step-by-step guide and links to help participants complete each project, which include Facebook, Twitter, blogging, location-based marketing, search-engine optimization, insights and analytics, content, review sites, outreach and your business's website.

On Tuesdays, Postling will showcase one business that finished the task, and on Wednesdays, Postling will check up on all participants and offer an optional assignment.

“It’s also a great opportunity for people all over the world to participate,” Lamster said. “We were inspired by the lack of knowledge small businesses have and people constantly saying they want to get started with social media but they just aren't quite sure how to do it. We wanted to provide a free opportunity for people en mass to get that education.”

Businesses can sign up any time during the 10 weeks on Postling’s website.
