A new contest will give one lucky company some help in an area of great need for many small businesses: marketing. The contest, sponsored by interactive advertising agency Blue Collar Interactive and digital marketing agency SwellPath, is giving one business a chance to win $100,000 in agency services to aid in developing a marketing plan for their company.
To enter the Jumpstart contest, companies can go to the contest web page, submit an essay and short creative examples to illustrate their company's vision and passion. Entries must be submitted by Oct. 26. Judges will determine the five finalists on Nov. 9, and a public vote will determine the winner, who will be announced on November 16. Judges will select finalists based on which company is able to best convey why their company needs the prize money.
“The proposal isn’t supposed to be elaborate or traditional,” said April Donovan, partner and creative director with Blue Collar. “Our team understands that the best ideas are not created in the boardroom and presented in a three-ring binder. In today’s business environment, creative thinking is critical. We’re looking for client partners who are curious, innovative people who value teamwork, lead by example, and love what they do. We’re most inspired by people with heart and soul who dare to do the impossible.”
The winning company will be able to redeem services beginning in 2013.

We’re looking for a unique and inspired business who offers a great product or service—a small dog with big fight."
